The Animals - The House of the Rising Sun

Cuando la escuché por primera vez, The House of the Rising Sun me retrotraía a las películas del oeste de Clint Eastwood pero luego descubrí que era una canción de folk de los Estados Unidos. También llamada "Rising Sun Blues", narra la vida de alguien que ha tenido poca fortuna en Nueva Orleans (estado de Luisiana). No se conoce exactamente a su autor ni la fecha de su creación, pero podría rastrearse su origen incluso en el siglo XIX. Dependiendo de la versión, la canción puede ser interpretada desde la perspectiva de una mujer o de un hombre. La versiones más conocidas son la del grupo británico The Animals de 1964, (que os la adjunto) que alcanzó el nº1 en Estados Unidos y en el Reino Unido, Bob Dylan, una más cañera de Frijid Pink y la de Joan Baez en 1959-60.
